Crispin Cider Spicy Meatballs

Looking for a great recipe to please a crowd for Superbowl?  Look no further!  These spicy and sweet meatballs are sure to please even the toughest football food critics

 

 

Crispin Cider Spicy Meatballs (sauce recipe follows)

Serves: 6    Prep Time: 20 minutes   Cook time:  20 minutes

Ingredients (for meatballs):

1 lb spicy pork sausage

1 lb lean ground beef

½ cup breadcrumbs

2 eggs

¼ cup cream

¾ cup red onion diced

1 tbsp garlic minced

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Ingredients (for sauce):

½ cup Crispin Original Cider

½ cup apple butter

¼ cup spicy brown mustard

1 tbsp Worcestershire

1 tbsp hot sauce

 

Directions for sauce:

  1. In a large sauce pan whisk together all ingredients.
  2. On medium heat cook until slightly thickened (about 15 minutes)
  3. Pour over meatballs in a large bowl and toss to coat.

 

Directions for meatballs:

  1. Preheat oven to 375F
  2. In a large bowl mix sausage and beef until thoroughly combined. 
  3. Whisk together eggs and cream and add to beef mix along with onions, garlic, bread crumbs and salt & pepper.  Mix thoroughly with hands
  4. Roll meat mix into golf ball sized balls and place on a cookie sheet
  5. Bake in oven until cooked through (about 30 minutes)
  6. Remove from oven and toss with Crispin Sauce

 

Serve with an ice cold Crispin Cider of your choice
